GRHA 2009 Rural Health Day

We have our Rural Health Day plans scheduled and I hope you will be able to join us on February 19th. We are partnering with the GHA Center for Rural Health and GAPHC for breakfast from 7:30-8:15 in room 230 of the Capitol.  In addition to our breakfast partners, we need to thank our RHD Platinum Sponsors Care Improvement Plus and the GHA Center for Rural Health. Our Gold Sponsors are Community Health Works, Spring Creek Health Cooperative, Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Humana, Inc., and the Georgia Health Policy Center.

At 8:30 we will join our sponsors in the South Wing of the Capitol for exhibits and speakers. We will present an award to Dr. Jim Hotz, hear about trauma care from Dr. John Rogers, and policy issues from Mary Eleanor Wickersham, the Governor’s Health Policy Advisor. Representative Channell is sponsoring our resolution in the House and they have reserved seats in the Gallery for us. In the Senate Senator Staton is sponsoring our resolution.

We have a bit of a timing challenge with a picture in the North Wing of the Capitol with Governor Perdue. That is scheduled for 10:30, so we will have to hope that everything runs as smoothly as possible and scurry to meet the Governor.

The remainder of the day will allow us to spend time visiting sponsor exhibits and meeting with legislators. We will update you on hearings that are scheduled that day that you may want to attend. We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta.
